Founded by Jofre Porta and co-directed by Afiza Ghazlan, Global Tennis Team became a reference point in international tennis through its unique approach and strong values. From the very beginning, the academy has been much more than a place to train—it has been a center of learning, research, and innovation.
From Global Tennis Team to the Jofre Porta Academy

Founded by Jofre Porta and co-directed by Afiza Ghazlan, Global Tennis Team became a reference point in international tennis through its unique approach and strong values. From the very beginning, the academy has been much more than a place to train—it has been a center of learning, research, and innovation.
The GlobalSystem Methodology
At the heart of our work is the GlobalSystem Methodology, the integrated training methodology developed by Jofre Porta after decades of experience at the highest level of the game. This avant-garde system unites the technical, tactical, physical, and mental dimensions of tennis into one cohesive model—rejecting the idea that these elements should be trained separately.
Through the GlobalSystem Methodology, we prepare players not just to perform, but to understand, adapt, and grow. It is a methodology shaped by Jofre’s work with world-class athletes like Carlos Moyá and Rafa Nadal, and refined through his years of teaching, traveling, and researching across the globe.
Why we changed our name
In 2025, we made the decision to transition from Global Tennis Team to the Jofre Porta Academy. This change is a way to honor the legacy of Jofre Porta, whose vision and dedication have inspired countless players, coaches, and families around the world.
The name change marks a new chapter, but it does not change who we are. Our values remain rooted in discipline, humility, and growth. Our methods remain grounded in the GlobalSystem Methodology. And our mission remains unchanged: to unlock potential, cultivate resilience, and shape warriors—both in tennis and in life.
A new era of growth
While Jofre Porta and Afiza Ghazlan continue to lead the academy with the same passion and purpose, 2024 also brought new energy and momentum. We’re proud to welcome Edson Smith to the leadership team—bringing his experience and strategic insight to help the academy expand its reach and impact internationally.
Together, we are committed to preserving the essence of what makes this academy special, while building a stronger future for the next generation of players.
